Important: BEFORE creating Production Resources & Production Process in PrintJobManager, Departments MUST be Setup.
 
 
In this document, we will cover how to Create/Edit/Delete Departments in PrintJobManager. Departments are User defined Categories that Product Resources (Equipment and Manual Labor) are assigned to. There is no limit to how many Departments you can create 
 
Departments are user defined allowing you to create Departments/Cost Centers that meet your specific needs. There is no limit to the number of Departments that you can create, please take some time to plan before creating your Departments, the naming conventions you use can make searching for Product Resources very quick and easy.

Main Menu - Overview 
  1. Gear Icon: Selecting the Gear icon  ​​ will allow you to hide all Deleted Departments from the view. If you want to see deleted Departments uncheck Hide Deleted box. 
  2. Search Departments: To search for a Department, type in the first couple of letters of the Department that you are looking for and select the Search Icon   the system will show all of the Departments, matching the data you entered. The more data you enter into the Search Terms field a quicker and more accurate Search will be achieved.
  3. +Add New: Use this button to create a New Department.
  4. Name (Column): Shows a listing by the Name of the Department, by clicking on the Department header you can sort by Ascending - Descending (Alphanumeric Order). By selecting the Filter icon you will have multiple user defined Filter/Sort options. 
  5. Description (Column): Shows a listing of the Description of the Department, by clicking on the Description header you can sort by Ascending - Descending (Alphanumeric Order). By selecting the Filter icon you will have multiple user defined Filter/Sort options.
  6. Integration Id (Column): Shows a listing by the Integration Id of the Department, by clicking on the Integration Id header you can sort by Ascending - Descending (Alphanumeric Order). By selecting the Filter icon you will have multiple user defined Filter/Sort options.
  7. Edit icon: To Edit a Department select the Edit  icon located on the left side of the Department you would like to Edit. 
  8. Delete icon: To Delete/Hide a Department select the Delete  icon located on the left side of the Department you would like to Delete/Hide. Caution Deleting a Department will remove the Product Resources and Production Resources assigned to that Department. 
  9. Page view (Navigation): Use the directional arrows to go forward/back a page, or directly to the beginning or end. You can also select the page number you would like to view.
  10. Items per Page: You can select the number of Materials 5,10,25,50, shown on 1 page from a drop down list (10 items per page is the default)
  11. Number of Materials being viewed of total number of Materials: Reference only.

please take some time to plan before creating your Departments, the naming conventions you use can make searching for materials very quick and very easy.
 
Follow the process below to Add a New Department, all Departments MUST have a unique Name, You will receive an Error stating that this Department Name is already being Used.
 
  1. Add New: Selecting the +Add New icon will open up an active row to enter the required data for your new Department
  2. Name (*Required): Enter a Name for your Department, please take some time to plan before creating your Departments, the naming conventions you use can make searching for materials very quick and very easy.
  3. Description: You can add a detailed description of this Department, or copy it from the name field and Paste it in the Description field.
  4. Integration Id: Will be used for future API Integrations.
  5. & 6. Save/Cancel:  If you are satisfied with your data in the Name and Description field click on the Green Check mark Icon (5)  to save, If you want to cancel select the X icon (6).

Follow the process below to Edit a Department, all Departments MUST have a unique Name, You will receive an Error stating that this Department Name is already being Used.
 
  1. Edit: Selecting the Edit  icon will open up an active row to Edit/Change the Department data.
  2. Name:Edit/Change Name
  3. Description:Edit/Change Description
  4. Integration Id: Edit/Change Integration Id.
  5. & 6. Save/CancelIf you are satisfied with your data in the Name and Description field click on the Green Check mark Icon (5)  to save, If you want to cancel select the X icon (6).

Note: When you Delete a Bin it becomes Hidden, the Materials within the Bin cannot have Material transactions posted. The Deleted Bin can be re-activated by selecting the Gear icon (Fig. 2 - #8) and selecting the Edit icon (Fig. 2 - #6).
  • To delete a Department, select the Delete icon (Fig. 2=4 - #7) on the left side of the Material Category you want to Delete/Hide
