Can I have access to the .htaccess file on the server?

The .htaccess file is used to configure a number of options on websites using Apache based servers.  You may be interested in this file because you want to control page redirects within your site or to specify how sites that use SSL or multiple domains should operate.

As Pressero is a cloud-based application, there is no .htaccess file.  You can, however, control important aspects of site behavior directly through the Pressero admin.  In the site settings area, on the domains tab, you may indicate if SSL is being utilized and how Pressero should handle multiple domains for this site.  There is also a separate area to manage redirects in the admin.

If you have a large number of redirects you would like to add to your site, you may utilize the Pressero web services API or contact us about Professional Services to import the redirects directly to the database.
