Before you edit or delete a pricing engine be sure to click on the last tab "Product List" to see what products will be affected by your change! (see below for more detail).
Depending on what type of engine you are editing, this screen will look different.
Pricing Calculator or Spreadsheet - If you are working on a calculator or spreadsheet pricing engine you will make the edits in your Excel file and then upload the modified Excel file in the edit area.
Unit of Measure or Price Break - Select the pencil icon to open the engine for editing. You can either change the entries you made (and then click on the check mark), or select the "x" to delete the row completely.
After making these selections the "Save" "Cancel" and "Delete" buttons will be available. Deleting here will delete your pricing engine.
You can always find deleted pricing engines by clicking on the "show deleted pricing engines" button at the top of this section.
Above is an example of a Unit of Measure (UOM) pricing engine in the testing area. Depending on what type of engine you are testing, this screen will look different. Any of the options that will be available for you to choose at the product level will be here so you can test with those options.
The Pricing Engine Test area can be used to test without needing a storefront.
Choose Pricing Engines from your Preferences area.
Find the pricing engine you would like to test from the list of engines. Select the pencil icon.
Select the second tab, Test Pricing Engine.
Depending on the pricing engine you are testing, different options will be available for you to test. These are the same options that will be available to you when you assign your engine to a product.
Select the options that will apply to your product.
Culture: Select the culture of the site you wish to simulate for the test. This will change the currency symbol used in the testing display.
Minimum Cost: If you will have a minimum cost for the product, enter it here to simulate that in this test.
Minimum Quantity:
Calculator and Spreadsheet pricing engines: If one or more of your quantity options (Q1 through Q5) will have a minimum quantity, enter in this column to simulate that in this test.
UOM and Price Breaks pricing engines: If you will require a minimum quantity to be purchased, enter it in the Q1 box to simulate it for this test.
Maximum Quantity:
Calculator and Spreadsheet pricing engines: If one or more of your quantity options (Q1 through Q5) will have a maximum quantity, enter them in this column to simulate that in this test.
UOM and Price Breaks pricing engines: If you will have a maximum quantity that can be purchased, enter it in the Q1 box to simulate it for this test.
Decimal Places (Calculator and Spreadsheet pricing engines only): Enter the number of decimal places you would like to be able to enter for each quantity parameter (Q1 through Q5) for this test. The default is 0 (whole numbers only), so you do not need to enter anything if you will not want to be able to enter decimals.
Allow Arbitrary Quantities (Calculator and Spreadsheet pricing engines only): Check this box for any quantity parameter (Q1 through Q5) where you would like to be able to enter any quantity, rather than just the quantities you specified for the parameter in the Excel file. If this is not checked, a dropdown list of the pre-defined quantities will appear for the test. If it is checked, you will be able to type in a quantity.
Show Per Piece Price: Check this box if you would like to see the "Each" price during the test.
Show Image Links (Calculator and Spreadsheet pricing engines only): Custom skinning supports the ability to dynamically display images, depending on the pricing options selected. Checking this option will show these images during your test. Please note that no images will show if you have not preloaded images. Important Note: In order to show the image links within your custom skin, you will need to contact support so that we can enable that option for your account on our server.
Select the “Set Options” button.
Complete the pricing engine that displays below the options.
Compare the results that are shown to the right and make sure the results you expected are show If they are you are ready to assign this engine to a product. If the results are not what you expected, return to the edit screen, make necessary changes and retest.
*Note: The Test Pricing Engine tab only takes into account settings that are part of the pricing engine, not settings that are set on a product or site level. Any of the options you set in the Test Pricing Engine tab apply to the test only and must be set in a product's Pricing tab to apply to a product.
The Product List will show you the store, the product and the product URL for every instance this particular pricing engine is being used. Since the Pressero system allows you to assign a pricing engine to multiple stores and products you will want to make sure you check this area before editing or deleting any of your engines. If the changes you are making do not apply to all products listed here, you will want to create a new pricing engine instead.
Click the Delete button at the bottom of the Price Engine edit window to delete a Price Engine.
Check mark the Include Deleted box at the top of the Price Engine control to display all deleted a Price Engine. Click the Edit pencil and then click Save to un-delete a Price Engine.
