Ch. 027. Create a New Site

Creating Sites in the Pressero System

There are three types of sites that Pressero supports

The controls and capabilities of a site will vary based on the type of site you choose  to create: a B2B storefront, a B2C storefront, or an Informational website.

B2B Storefront.
A B2B (customer) site will require the user to login first and is intended for exclusive use of a large or regular customer, a print broker, or wholesale trade customers. This site is marked with an icon of a business person.

Your Pressero plan determines how many of this type of site you can create. Refer to your sign up form to see what plan you have. You may also contact support and we can get this information for you.

B2C Storefront.
In contrast, a B2C (retail) site is intended for use by the general public and a login is only needed during the checkout/payment process. This site is marked with an icon of a retail storefront with a window awning.

Your Pressero plan determines how many of this type of site you can create. Refer to your sign up form to see what plan you have. You may also contact support and we can get this information for you.

Informational Website.
An Informational website is one that does not have a shopping cart system (no e-commerce) at all. This site is marked with an icon of  an "i" for information.

Your Pressero plan determines how many of this type of site you can create. Refer to your sign up form to see what plan you have. You may also contact support and we can get this information for you.

The illustration below shows the controls for each type of site. The Informational Site contains the basic website, webpage, user, and email controls available for all three types of sites. Both B2C and B2B sites contain extra controls related to selling products and services. B2B sites contain extra controls related to a customer's locations, purchase orders, and supervisory order approvals.

Creating a New Site:

To create a new site, go to: Admin > Sites > and click on the Create New Site

Site Name - This is the Title of the site you are creating and will appear in several areas of the system both in the admin area and to your customer when they are viewing the site.
Note: Site name has a limit of 50 characters.

Site URL - This is the primary domain name the site will run under. Enter the full name without the http://. Please note that your Pressero plan may limit the number of unique domain names you can have with your subscription. When creating a B2B site, you will most likely want to create a "sub-domain" of a primary domain of your choosing. A primary domain would be for example "mywebsite.com" and then a sub-domain of that would be "firstsite.mywebsite.com".

When getting started use the “name.v5.pressero.com” domain name your Aleyant rep sent you and append any text you want to the front of it, separated by a dot. For example, if you had been sent AmcoPrinting.v5.pressero.com, you could create a retail Site using “store1.AmcoPrinting.v5.pressero.com”, or  B2B site using “123.AmcoPrinting.v5.pressero.com”, etc. Until you go live, you must use this base domain in your naming conventions or your site will not display.

Site Type - Refer to the list of site types above and choose the type of site you are creating.

After you complete the first page

After completing the items listed above you will be directed to the next set of questions, or brought to another area of the site setup so you can continue.

Informational and B2C sites - After completing the first set of prompts you will be brought to the Admin > Sites > Your new site folder > Settings > General Info tab. Leaving this area at this time will not cause any problems if you need to return later to finish the setup.

B2B Customer Storefront - After completing the initial prompts the window will extend with additional information to fill in for the sites locations. Without a location the site can not be created successfully so you will need to complete the following prompts for the new B2B site before the new site can be created.

Location Unique ID - Enter a location code such as: HQ for Headquarters, or Main, Chi, NY, etc. The location code will display on the email notification and as an option in the Report Writer.

Location Description - account information to be used if location has specific account information that must be referenced in orders.

Enter / Edit Address Info - Complete the prompts in this area. Business Name is the name of that particular location and is important information to included as is the address.

Site Preview. After you have completed the required ✲ setup steps, you can preview your Site by using the domain you set above. If you are still logged in to your admin area you can select the green arrow next to the site name in your site list. If you want to preview a B2B site, you will need to create a user first so you can log in.
