What is GDPR?

The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation is a set of rules that govern how personal data of European Union citizens must be managed on any site doing business with European Union countries. The GDPR comes into force on May 25, 2018.

The GDPR applies to all businesses and organizations established in the EU, regardless of whether the data processing takes place in the EU or not. Even non-EU established organizations can be subject to GDPR. If a business offers goods and/or services to citizens in the EU, then it’s subject to GDPR.

All organizations and companies that work with personal data should appoint a data protection officer or data controller who is in charge of GDPR compliance. All Aleyant's subscribers with customers in the European Union need to be compliant with this regulation.

I'm outside the European Union, but have customers inside the Union
If you are located outside the European Union, but have customers in the European Union, you need to review whether your company processes and procedures are GDPR compliant. See our links below for added details.
